REEFTON, April 27

The funeral of the late Mrs 1 Ethel Alborn moved from her late residence Main Street, on Monday afternoon’ for the Suburban Cemetery. There was a large attendance of mourners, and the buirial services were read by Rev. C. Tanner, of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church. Rev. C. Tanner presided at the annual meeting of the parishioners of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church. There was a. fair attendance. The Nelson Diocesan Trust Board advised, that the sustentation quota, would be increased for the coming year. The annual statement of receipts and expenditure was presented and adopted. A vote of thanks was accorded the Vicar and Mrs Tanner for their work during the year. The work of Mr and Mrs A. P. Watson for the Church was referred’ to by several speakers, and the wish was expressed that the holiday which Mr and Mrs Watson were to enjoy in the Homeland would be of benefit to both. Mr L, Watson responded on behalf of his parents. The election of Vestry resulted: Church Warden, Mr E. Nicholson. Vestry, Messrs W. J. Humphries, A. W. Turner, L. A. Watson, G. Lowes, C. Cleaver, C. Mori, H. Cooper, F. Marshall, and Mrs King. Messrs S. Corrin and J. Buckland were elected to represent country districts. Secretary, Miss D. Farrell. Treasurer, Mr L. Watson. Auditor, Mr Cooper. Votes of thanks were accorded to Mrs King for work on the envelope system, and for attention to church linen, Miss King for her work as> auditor, Mesdames Hickton and Cooper, the mite collectors, Mrs Allen for her work in the Sunday School, and Mrs Discacaiti for assistance at the' organ, and to Miss Strachan for her care of the Sanctuary.
