FALL OF EARTH

ACCIDENT NEAR REEFTON. [FEB PBEBB ASSOCIATION.] REEFTON, March 16. A fall ,of earth caught three, men employed at the Saddle Road deviation work, near Reefton, this morning. One man was completely buried, and the other two partially buried. One man is in a serious condition. All are inmates of the Reefton Hospital, where they were conveyed as soon as they were extricated hy their workmates, who speedily dug them out. The men are: — George Smith, fractured, rihs and body bruising, suffering from slight shock, but able to leave the. hospital. Henry Taylor, of Huikarere, fractured left, leg and internal injuries, probably severe, suffering from shock, condition serious. Edward Richards, internal injuries, fractured ribs, also suffering from shock, injuries severO. All three men are employed by the Public Works Department on the road.
