DOCTOR TO RESIGN

NAPIER HOSPITAL INQUIRY

[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

NAPIER, February 15

Dr. J. Allan Berry, one of the Napier members of the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board, has been asked to tender his resignation as a member of the honorar.v staff of the Napier Hospital. This follows an investigation by a special committee of the board into certain matters at the hospital. His seven days' notice is to date from today.

When asked by Dr. Berry, who is a member of the Board, at to-day's meeting, why this action had been taken, Mr. C. Lassen, the chairman, declined to give any reason. Dr. Berry said that the reason was that he had refused to give evidence at the inquiry.
