A London cablegram stated that Sir Herbert Austin is taking the title of Baron Austin of Longbridge.

The funeral of the kite Evan Gale took place- yesterday afternoon, at Karoro Cemetery. The services, at deceased's late residence, Guinness Street. and ai the graveside, were conducted by Rev. A. O. Harris. Mr. Alvin AV. de Berry. 8.D.5., son of Mr. L. F. de Berry, has been awarded the North-Western University Dental School Scholarship, and will leave New Zealand on August 4 for the United States to prosecute his studies and research .
