BLACKBALL NOTES

.A meeting of the Blackball Women’s Institute was held on Wednesday afternoon to meet Mrs. Tilleyshort who gave a demonstration of tinsel picture making, and hearth brushes which were made from rope. Mrs. Joblin of Trentham presented the Institute with a visitors’ book. Mr. McLuskie who has been here for the past ten years leaves on Saturday for Greymouth where he will reside.
The district mines have been working full time during the past fort-
night. Mrs. R. Joblin, Wellington,, is visiting Mrs. J. Hutchinson, Main Road. Mrs. M. Thompson, Preston Road, is the guest of Mrs. 11. Bowkett, Main Road. Mr. J. G. Quinn left yesterday tor Wellington, to be present at the conference of mine owners. Mr. James Gibson left yesterday for Wellington as a delegate to the Workers’ Conference.
Misses Pat. McLuskie, Stacia O Donnell and Joy Hutson have returned to their respective colleges. Miss Kathleen O’Donnell, left for an extended visit to Christchurch.
