Whe Reefton branch of the Women s Institute met and Mrs Duff (President) occupied the chair. The resignation of Mrs J. Stevenson was received with regret. Two new members were welcomed. It was resolved that~the good wishes of the brunch be conveyed to Mrs Stevenson and the thanks of the branch for her work. Mrs Jones of Hukarere demonstrated pine needle work. The roll call was.
"Uses for cotton reels.” Miss Burns won.the competition for the best pair of child's slippers, with Mrs Findlay second. Mrs Findlay was the winner of the competition for the best jar of pickles, with Mrs Eklund second. For the best jar of pickled onions, Mrs Eklund won with Mrs Duff second. Mesdames Discaciati, Hampson and Miss Brazil were the afternoon’s hostesses.
Mr J- Crossman presided at the weekly meeting of the Inangahua Rugby Sub-Union. The referees' reports of week-end games were accepted as satisfactory. Mr T. Mclntosh wrote accepting position as Inangahua delegate on the West Coast Rugby Union. The following fixtures were made for the week-end: Senior: — Cronadun v. Waratah at Cronadun, referee Mr P. Gallagher. Stars v. Ikamatua at Reefton, referee, Mr Yellowlees. Junior: Cronadun v. Ikamatua at Reefton, referee, Mr Bennett.
