WELLINGTON CROSS-COUNTRY [per press association.] WELLINGTON, September 2. Wellington provincial cross-country championships resulted: G. Prosser (Brooklyn) 37min. Isec., 1; J. Riddington (Scottish) 37.15, 2; C. Chalf (Wellington) 37.23, 3. The B. Grade event resulted: R. Violich (Scottish) 1, L. Horne (Marlborough) 2, M. Violich 3. The Scottish Club won both team sections. AUCKLAND HARRIERS. AUCKLAND, September 2. The Auckland Provincial harriers championship was decided over a 61 miles course. The British Empire Games runner, J. W. Savidan secured an easy victory, winning by 400 yards from A. M. Atton of H.M.S. Diomede. Savidan’s time was 33min 32sec. Neither Savidaivnor Atton is available for the team to represent Auckland in the Dominion championship race at Dunedin on September 15, the team being as follows:—Nicholson, Valder, Pinson, Birtwhistle and Hill.
