WAIUTA DEFEAT RUNANGA. Rain caused a postponement of all games on Saturday, but, on Sunday, Runanga juniors journeyed to Waiuta, and after a fast and, even game with the home side, were defeated by three goals to two.- The best of the winningplayers were Parkinson, Jack Young and Luke, whilst J. Airns, Deardon and Shotton played best for Runanga. The teams were: — Runanga:—R. Airns; Sharp, J. e Airns; Deardon, Cameron, Greening; 11 Sotton, Restieaux, Craig, Richmond, d Adamson. Waiuta gained another corner, which J. Airns cleared to set the Runanga forwards away, and a well placed centre by Restieaux was cleared by Page. Jobling went down the wing, and his cross was put over the bar by James Young from ten yards range. Waiuta came back and Wilson sent on to Luke, who beat Airns with a hard drive. Waiuta 3, Runanga 1. , Runanga pressed and Craig went close with a good shot. Adamson put in a good run down the left, and passed to Richmond, who crossed to Restieaux, the last-named hitting the upright with a first-timer. Shotton passed to Craig, who sent in a hot shot, which Page failed to hold, and the ball dropped over the goal line. Waiuta 3, Runanga 2. The visitors were now having the better of the play, and strove hard to equalise, but Waiuta's defence was sound, and the game ended shortly after, without addition to the score.
