Vanderleeuw, Field Secretary of the New Education Fellowship, is reported to have been killed when his aeroplane crashed while flying from Mpika to Locloma, en route for Cairo. INDIAN ENTERPRISE. CALCUTTA, August 28. The Government of India’s scheme for the development of civil aviation at an estimated cost of £750,000, was approved by the Standing Committee of the Assembly. The expenditure, which is to be spread ovei’ three years includes £375,000 for landing grounds and aerodromes, arising out of the rapid volume of transit traffic, wherefrom the Government cannot fail to obtain pecuniary advantages. CENTENARY COMPETITORS. (Received August 29, 8 a.m.) ROME, August 28. Two Aii’ Force officers, Major Attilio Biseo and Captain Osvaldo Baldi, will replace Signors Passaliva and Vacuia piloting the Savoiamarchetti entry for the Melbourne air race. Biseo participated in the North and South Atlantic air armadas under Balbo, and won the Bisesco Cup in 1933.
