SATURDAY’S RESULTS The Basketball competitions were continued on Saturday, when the B. grade competition (Saturday) was finalised, Blaketown B, emerging winners. Runanga and Technical J.I. W’ere leading prior to Saturday’s games. Results of Saturday’s games were: — “A” Grade: —St. Mary’s Al, 11 beat Blaketown 3; Convent Old Girls 10 beat St. Mary’s A 2,7; Grey Main Old Girls A. 9 beat Cobden 1. “B” Grade: —Blaketown B 12 beat Tech. J 20; St. Mary’s B 9 drew with Tech. D. 9; Tech. JI. 8 drew with Tech. C 8; St. Mary’s C beat Grey Main Old Girls B by default; Runanga a bye.

The competition points in the finalised B. grade competition were: — Blaketown B (lost one) 14 points, Technical J.I. (lost one, drew two) 12 pts; Runanga (lost two) 11 points, St. Mary’s B. 9, Technical C. 7, Technical D. 5, Grey Main Old Girls B. 4, Technical J. 2,4, St. Mary’s C. 2. The following games will be played during the week in order to advance the Saturday “A” Grade competition: Convent Old Girls v. Blaketown A at McGinley Park, 4 p.m. Wednesday (Miss Ray); Tech. B. v. St. Mary’s A2 at McGinley Park, 4 p.m. Wednesday (Miss Gardner).
