EDGAR WALLACE’S DEBTS
PAYMENT IN FULL [BY CABLE —PBISS ASSN. —COPTBIGHT.] LONDON, May 12. Edgar Wailace’s creditors have been paid up fully. The estate of the late novelist, disclosed debts, of £BlOOO and assets of £lBOOO. M’allace bequeathed four-sevenths of his copyrights to bis widow and children. He stated then that the irregularity of his royalties in coming in might mean a delay. His widow died in 1933, leaving £6981. A receiver has administered Hie novelist’s estate. His ten racehorses were sold and realised £3BOO. Following on a Chancery Court authorisation ,a company has been formed. called the Edgar M'allac- Limited, the shareholders of which are the four children. Two of these are still at. school. None has yet received one penny from the, estate, but if is anticipated that in future the royalties will provide for (hem. 'l'he “Daily Herald” says (hat the loyalties from the late Edgar 'Wallace’s plays and novels during the two years since his death have amounted to £65000. and money is still pouringin from all over the world.
