[BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN.—COPYRIGHT.)

VANCOUVER, October 28

Damages amounting to fifty-six thousand dollars have been awarded to Edward Howlett, the father of Armand Howlett, a student, against the University of Edmonton, Canada, in the Supreme Court, at Edmonton, through the boy becoming permanently insane. His insanity is the result of a “hazing” by the students, in the course of which he was divested of his clothing, and was dragged naked through the University corridors.
