MR FISK’S TOUR

LONDON, October 29

Experiments designed to extend the hours of communication and the general efficiency of the Australian radiophone were discussed by Mr Fisk, the Chairman of Amalgamated Wireless Ltd., and Colonel Angwin, Chief of the Post Office Wireless Department, during a visit to the Rugby station and the Baldock wireless station, which radiophones the English terminals. The Australian Press Association understands that there is considerable promise of curtailing the period of the wireless beam fading. Mr Fisk is visiting Germany on October 29, at the invitation of a German wireless company. Thence he goes to Holland to inspect the Phillip firm’s organisation. He also inspects the French overseas wireless service, the management of which is interested in the possibility of establishing a direct service to Australia.
