INFLATED EXCHANGE
RETURN TO THE ATTACK
[PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
WELLINGTON. April 11. The Wellington Importers’ Associa in passed a resolution last evening
endorsing the attitude of the New Zealand Importers’ Federation, in unswerving opposition to the Government’s reckless exchange policy, and approving the Federation’s published statements on behalf of the business community, as a protest against Governmental procedure, which is disorganising business and undermining public, confidence.
Further, (hat official attempt to withhold details of obligations to the banks under the Exchange Indemnity Act, until the end of the year, will only add Io the uncertainly felt by the entire community, and as the public has an unquestioned right to know the exact position at all times, the Association urges the Government to issue full details, so that, it will be possible for citizens to judge of the full effects of the utterly unwarranted and clearly damaging policy of inflated exchange.
