BUTTER PRICES.

[to the editor.]

Sir, —Your- correspondent who is comparing the ruling price of butter ami cheese between England and New Zealand has quoted figures which are very misleading, and not in keeping with his reference to the Bible. He

states butter is being sold in England at (id per pound, while the. market report is 66/-, and with extra exchange is nearer 9d. . Cheese he gives at 3d, yet the latest market reports is 38/-, and with the exchange added is sd. He gives the retail price in New Zealand at 1/- instead of 7d to Bd. He cannot expect to buy one pound at the

ame price as a ton, but should give

he retail prices in both cases, and ot mislead the public by giving such tatements. —Yours etc., RETAILER.
