Goldfield: Is a speedy pacer, but she will not be a good medium for investment until she learns to go steadily. Eureka Boy: Is still on the easy list. The lameness that, affected him last week is showing a slight improvement, and his trainer thinks it will clear away with rest and treatment. Colorado: Is the breed and type that requires a lot of work and there is every indication of his stripping a great horse for Easter engagements. John Jinks: Is doing his work impressively at Addington. -He should be in great heart for Easter engagements. Red Shadow: Is a candidate for important twomile, and sprint events at Easter. He is shaping nicely in training work. Mountain Dell: Is acquitting herself really well, and if she fails to win a race at Easter, it will not be for want of condition. Royal Comrade: Has sobered down, and he is beginning from a standing start as if he had never done anything wrong in his life. He should soon win a stake.

New Metford: L. Frost is keeping New Metford in regular work with a view to racipg him at Addington at Easter. The gelding is trotting well in the tasks apportioned him, and is capable of winning races.

Golden Eagle: Golden Eagle, avlio won- at the Thames meeting on Thursday, is a three-year-old filly by Nelson Bingen from Great Eyre, and is trained <by J. T. Paul. Golden Eagle at the summer meeting "of the Auckland Trotting Club ran second to KoheAvah in 3min 39 l-ssec. over a mile and ahalf. The filly made her first appearance in that race.
