WOOL MARKETS. [BY CABLE —PEESS ASSN. —COPYEIGHT.] LONDON, September 17. Mr. W. Devereux, representative of the Australian Woolgrowers’ .Association, reports that most of the wool markets are firm. Actual sales of tops to France and Germany have increased both in volume and in price, and stocks are decreasing. Merino tops are very firm at Bradford at late rates. Crossbred tops are quieter, but values are firm. Spinners are gradually making better prices for Merino yarns. Cross-bred yarns are firm, with moderate business for home and exports. Continental futures have shown some reaction after a rapid advance and have declined 5 per cent, during the past .week. STOCKS AND SHARES. AUCKLAND, September 20. GREY SALE YARDS. The fortnightly stock sale was held at the Grey Yards yesterday when the National Mortgage and Dalgety’s offered a good yarding of cattle to a fair attendance of buyers. Prices showed a firming tendency on late rates, and good ox and heifer beef made 25/- to 26/- per 1001 b, cows 20/to 21/-. Sales were as follow on account of W. Diedrich lblk at £l3, 4 do. £9 10/-, 2 do. at £8 15/-, 4 do. at £-8 17/6, 2 do. £8 12/6, 1 do. £9 12/6, 3 do. £6 15/-, 1 do. at £8 2/6; 3 cows at £6 to £6 2/6, 4 heifers £6 12/6 to £7, 4 do. £7 7/6 to £B, 1 do. £6 -15/-, 1 cow at £6 12/6; a/c.
