WHITMAN V. NAYLER. [PEE press association.] WELLINGTON, September 19. Using the stopper hold in a wrestling match to-night, Hughie Whitman (Australia) 11.2,' defeated Len Nayler (New Zealand) 11.4. Whitman won his first fall with the stopper in the third round. Nayler equalised with a spin and dump in the fifth. Whitman won the deciding fall with another stopper, his opponent being forced to submit. WALKER BEATS KARASICK. In a professional heavyweight wrestling contest at the Auckland Town Hall last night, George Walker, the British-Canadian wrestler now resident in Auckland, defeated Al Karasick, the Greek, by one fall to nil after a strenuous and colourful bout. Karasick was well ahead on points when Walker secured a fall in the sixth round with a jack-knife hold, and over the last two rounds he had all the better of the bout. In the last round Karasick threw his opponent time after time with head locks, but was unable to pin him. Mr. C. Pollard was referee.
