RECTOR CONVICTED

EVIDENCE DECLARED FALSE “MAD ABOUT WOMEN” [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] July 8. Rev. Mr Davidson, Rector of Stiffkey, was found guilty of immoral conduct in respect to Rose Ellis, and Barbara Harris, of improper suggestions to a waitress, Miss D. of kissing and cuddling Barbara Harris in a restaurant, of accosting and importuning other waitresses, and molesting Phyllis Holt, Winifred Barker and Nellie Churchill. Mr Davidson was first out of the Court, and when running from the curious crowd, said: “I expected the verdict from the first.” 1 Chancellor North declared he was satisfied that Davidson’s evidence was a tissue of reckless and deliberate falsehoods. “Davidson may be an excellent parish priest, but I think he is mad about women, with immoral intent,” added the Chancellor.
