Satisfactory arrangements having been made with the Commonwealth Bank for financial accommodation to twenty million pounds, the Premiers’ Conference concluded its deliberations, after pledging that the budgets’ deficits next year will be reduced to nine millions, by further drastic economies. The Commonwealth Bank agreed to advance seven millions forthwith for allocation to various States for public works and absorption of unemployed, five millions next year, and three the following years, when it is hoped the conditions will have improved. Honorary' committees are setting up in each State to control the relief work.
