U.S.A.’S NEW BRIDGE. [BY CABLE—PBESB ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] NEW YORK, November 14. The great Bayonne Bridge, over the Killvankull, was dedicated in the presence of officials of New York and New Jersey, anti also Australian representatives, who presented greetings from New South Wales. One Australian representative, Mr. Dow, stated that the presentation of a “replica of the lower chord lock of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, represents an expression of sincere regard from Australia.” He added: “If the Bayonne span is the longer, the Sydney Bridge is the larger.” A cablegram from Hon. Mr. Lang, congratulating the New York Port Authority on the completion of the bridge, was read at the ceremonies. ALFONSO’S DEFENDER. MADRID, November 14. Count Romanones has notified the Speaker of the Constituent Assembly that he will defend/ ex-King 'Alfonso before the Cortes, and he has received the promise of an attentive hearing.
