CROQUET

WESTPORT v. MAKURA. , A party of members of the Makura Croquet Club journeyed from Greymouth to Westport yesterday, to play an inter-club match. On arrival, they were welcomed by Mrs Aitken, President of the Westport Club, and were entertained at morning tea- The games resulted as follow: — Mrs Gilbert and Mrs Nottle (Westport) beat Mrs Whibley and Mrs Mercer (Makura), 26 to 13. Mrs Mclntyre and Mrs Snodgrass (Westport) beat Mrs Coburn and Mrs Davies (Makura) 26 to 25.

Mrs C. Haglund and Miss Sljeedy (Makura) beat Mrs Bloyce and Mrs Kaye (Westport) 26 to 17. Mrs Greenwood and Mrs Gillespie (Westport) beat Mrs Smith and Mrs Davies (Makura), 26 to 10. Mrs Gilbert (Westport) beat Mrs Whibley (Makuija), 26 to 19. On behalf of the visitors, Mrs Smith thanked the Westport ladies for their hospitality, and hoped that they would visit Greymouth at an early date.
