DEFENDANTS’ ADMISSIONS. [by vAßLE—press assn.—copyright.] BRISBANE, August 5. In the course of the Mungana action to-day, Mr McGill, the counsel for the own read answers given by the defendants to the Crown’s inter,rogatories. -Goddard admitted that Mr Reid had allotted 1250 shares in the Mungana Mines Limited to him “in consideration of the friendship, advice and assistance which Goddard had given him in mining undertakings.” McCormack admitted his interest in Mun* gana mines, stating it began in December, 1917, under a verbal agreement, with Reid. McCormack received £10,596 for his 3,476 shares, which was paid to the Company by the Queensland Government. Mr McGill also tendered further answers by McCormack, showing that he had paid various substantial sums to Theodore between April, 1922 and July, 1925, the largest of which was £l6OO. Theodore did not give receipts. Theodore, in turn, also confirmed his receipt of these sums. The case was adjourned.
