MISSING BOY
HOTEL PORTER ARRESTED.

AUCKLAND, September 28.
The disappearance of a boy from his home in Mount Eden on Wednesday afternoon, led to the arrest yesterday morning of an hotel porter, who will be charged this morning, with a serious offence.
. It is stated by the police that the boy answered an advertisement for a position, for which a wage was offered of £1 per week. 'As a result, he received a telegram asking him to keep an appointment in the city, for which purpose he left home on Wednesday afternoon. When he did not return on Wednesday night, his parents became alarmed, and the police were informed.
At ten o’clock on Thursday morning, the boy returned home. It is alleged that he had accompanied a man to a boarding house. |
