Mr. R. Ford, who has been laid up the past few days, .is on the mend. Mr. A. B. Spiers returned from Christchurch on Thursday evening. Mr. J. Gilbert, who has been on a flip to the North Island, has returned. The annual meeting of the Kumara Dairy Factory Coy. was held on Wednesday last. The attendance of shareholders was not large. The accounts Of the Company, compared with those f>f the previous year, show an improveinent, the sale of butter realising £lOB5 more than in the previous year, and the balance to credit of Profit and Loss has increased from £2BB 2s 3d in 1927, to £635 Us Bd, a difference of £347'9s sd. Stock at £686 Bs, compared with stock on hand in 1927 £lll 4s lOd, also shows an increase of £575 3s 2d. On the Dr. side, sundry credits at £ll3 15s 3d in 1927, have increased to £135 13s lOd, whilst, the Bank account has increased from £124 5s .1(1 to £406 3s 2d, representing an increase of £2Bl 18s lOd, Butter boxes at. £92 4s 6d in 1927, compared with £5l 3s Id, show a decrease of £4l Is 2d. The balance sheet was adopted. The bachelors’'ball took place last night in the Memorial Hull, and was largely attended. Miss Jessie Spiers (Christchurch) is at home on her annual holiday.
