Middlesex against Sussex in the first innings made 195 (Enthoven 63), Tate taking 5 for 40; and in the second 339 declared (Twening not out 1.21, Hendren 51, and Bettington 95). Sussex in the first made 207, Bettington taking 4 for 87, and Hearne 5 for 40; and. in the second 215 (Bowley 94), Bettington taking 6 for 78. Middlesex won by 112 runs. AVorcestershire made 211 against Essex (Tarbox 55), and in the second 232, Nichols taking 6 for 64. Essex in the first made 436 for 9 (Gutmore 61, O’Connor 82, Russell 135, Douglafe 68), Tarbox taking 7 for 114; and in the second 8 for 0. Essex won by ten wickets.

Lancashire in the first innings against Yorkshire made 385 (Hallows 58, Taylor 66, IddOn 87, Green 52). Rhodes took 4 for 56. In the second Lancashire made 80 for 1. Yorkshire in the first made 473 (Holmes 79, Sutcliffe 140, Mitchell 74). Yorkshire won on the first innings.

Nottinghamshire in the first made 457 against Surrey (Gunn 122, AValker 51, Barrett 96, A. Staples 94) and in the second made only 50, Fender taking 4 for 21, and Peach 6 for 24. Surrey in the first ihade 288 (Hobbs 114) and in the second 220 for 3 (Shepherd 68, Sandhani not out 92). Surrey won by seven wickets.

Kent with 476 for 9 declared against Somerset, Chapman scoring 141, Ames 129 and Todd not out 51. Somerset in the first made 244 (Case 54, Jaskell 51). Wright taking 4 for 67. Somerset followed on and made J4B, Ashdown taking 5 for 31. Kent- won by an innings and eighty-fpur runs. Oxford University in the first made 494 against Glamorgan (Crowley 89, Kingsley 89, Barber- 89, and Garlandwells 83). Tn the second Oxford made 73 for 2. Glamorgan in the first made 323 (Hills 94, Bate's 81, Mercer not out 57). They followed on and made 243 (Williams not out 53). Oxford won by eight wickets. Cambridge University against West Indies in the first made 141, Constantine taking 5 for 35, and in the second 155. West Indies in the first made 257 (Fernandes 73, Neblett 61) and in the second 40 for 1. West Indies won by nine wickets. For Derbyshire against Warwickshire, Hutchison made 111, and Richardson not out seventy. For Warwick Wyatt made 104, Santali 84, Smith 82, and Kilner 65. Warwick won. For Hampshire against Gloucestershire Maud made 110. Boyes took 4 for 51. For Gloucestershire B. Lyon made 79, and Hammond took 5 for 40, ami Sinfield 5 for 62. Gloucesterwon.

For Northamptonshire against Leicestershire, Jupp made 74. and Thomas took 4 for 61. For Leicester Dawsou made 130, and Asrill took 5 for 16. Leicester won.
