TOTARA FLAT NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent.)
There will be a number of the local farmers and their wives making the trip to Dunedin next week. Given fine weather the outing should be most enjoyable and instructive. The League football match, which was played at Mawheraiti last week against Totara Flat, resulted in the first win for the Flat by 14 to 13 points. The game was exciting, the last score being made two minutes before the end of the game. The next week-end match will be played against Waiuta at Totara Flat. The following will form the team : —AVebley, McDonald, J. Hannah, Richards, Smith, B. Hannah, G. Broughton, D. Kidd, P Flynn, T. Savage, D. Green and Cook. Emergencies : Lines and Ward. There was another good attendance at the weekly euchre tournament last night. The usual keen competition was evinced, and the first Jjrizes were awarded to Mrs Holder (IkamaTua) and Mr Lowe. Mrs Corliss won the “booby” prize, as also did Mr Andrews.
Mr P. Kennedy (sen.) is expected to return to his home at the end of the week much .improved in health.
