DUNEDIN SHOW AWARDS. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Nov. 25. People’s Day at the Otago Summer Show was spoilt to-day by the continuous heavy rain. The gate receipts showed .a decrease of £2OO on last year, and the attendance was about 6000: The following championships were awarded: — Shorthorns, cow, J. S. Johnstone’s (Bushey Park), Tea Rose; bull, J. A. Johnstone’s (Bushy Pak) “Lavendar Royal.” The same exhibitor won the reserve. Friesians, cow, H. North and Sons (Rosevale) “Gladys Posch,” reserve, H. North V and Sons; bull, Adam Wilkinson, W. Bryant reserve. Red Polls —Cow, John Donaldson; (Stirling) champion and reserve; Heaton Rhodes reserve, Ayrshires; Cows, Gillies Bros, champion and reserve; bulls, G. R. Herron (Gore) champion, G. Fox reserve. Jerseys: Cows, S. Dale (Fairlie) champion and reserve, bulls S. Dale champion, D. Wright (Palmerston North), reserve Clydesdale entire, Thomson, Ltd., “Brilliantshine” champion; J. M. Smith (Kakanui) “Balmedie Monarch” reserve; mares or fillies, Thomson’s Ltd. "Bessie Brilliant,” champion, and “Baroness Brilliant” reserve. Merinos: Fine comb ram, R. Jopp (Chatto Creek) champion and reserve; ewe, F. H. Smith (Albury) champion, R. Jopp reserve; fine combing ram, F. H. Smith champion and reserve; ewe, R. Jopp champion; F. Smith reserve. Border Leicesters, ram, T. S. Little (Windsor), champion and reserve; ewe, T. S. Little champion and reserve; ewe, T. S. Little champion, H. Ruddenklau (Waimate) reserve. Lincolns, ram, New Zealand and Australian Land Co., champion and reserve; ewe, same exhibitor. Romneys: ram, O. Grey (Milburn), champion and reserve; ewes, same exhibitors. Southdowns, H. J. Andrew reserve; ewe, L. W. Storry Johnstone (Maheno), all awards. Corriedales: Ram, J. A. Johnstone, champion and reserve. HAWERA SHOW. HAWERA, Nov.’ 25. People’s Day at Egmont Show was marred by heavy rain showers; nevertheless there was a large at tendance. Yesterday’s admissions were the second largest for a first day. Additional championship awards are: — Clydesdales, entire, Moore Hunter Estate, light harness horses: stallion, T. Carson (Hawera); mare, C. Goodson (Hawera); harness, Bagent (Tepopo); pony, W. J. McDonnell (Castlecliff). In the dairy classes, the Wanganui Fresh Food and Ice Company’s Cup was woni by W. P.* ’Wallace (Waverley) for a dairy cow of any breed judged as a dairy type. The Hawera Dairy Co.’s Cup for best heifer, bred by the exhibitor was won by G. H. Bell (Oakura). The champion dairy cow prize went to R.Z. Horn (Ohau) Pony classes for school children figured for the first time in the catalogue and attracted large entries and created much interest, being a feature.
