OPERATIONS DURING SEPTEMBER, The following is the mine manager's report for September : No. 10 level, eastern end. has Leon extended fifty feet. In the last 30ft the v.fA track'has been running on a southerly course, but it is now .turning eastward'. During the extension cf this level, a solid body" of ore 25ft long was passed through, varyiny from a few inches to 6ft in width, this' (which corresponds with the old eastern reef in No. 9 levell _ has new .cut out, but another 20ft of driving should cut the new eastern block. No. 10 level rise is now at a height of 91ft an 1 there yet remain.-; 21ft of rising t-. connect with the western wing. Seventy feet up the western reef was cut. n< which point there was five feet of solid stone: but this has narrowed to three feet in width. This stone is of \crv good qualitv. The extension of the western end of No. 10 level has also been commenced, and the western reef is exncted to be cut in about 25ft of the drive. No. 9 level.—The western win/e has been cleaned o",t and sunk a vertical depth of eight feet. In the stopes, between Nos. 8 and 9 levels, a small leader from which 20 tons of cood quality stone has been obtained, was struck. From the development work in No. 10 le.vel and the rise ? nr) +" 1 "" 5 of or« wer» obtained. This. h 20 tons won from No. 9 level stopes. were crushed for a, return of 3450 z 15dwt '"cited gold. Two hundred and fiftv tons of sands were cyanided for 780./ 3dwt of I nllion. The total value is approximately ; <:5600.
