AN OLD LINER'S RE-UNION.
[BY ELECTIUC TELEGRAPH.] [PEB TKESS ASSOCIATION.] WANCANUI, This Day. The members of the old Waiigaiiui Cavalry Corps, who served in the GO's, lieJd it re-union on Wednesday. In (lie afternoon the veterans assembled at the local ritle range and participated in it friendly team's match at 200 yards. Colonel Somorville's team defeated a team captained by John Hundley, frizes for the highest scores were won by M. Marr (Alexander Lancers, 1864), and T. J>. Cummins (I'inimore's Troop, 1867). each with a score of 26, and Walter Armstrong (Cameron's Troop, 1865), with a sere of 25. Considering that, (ho men had not shot for years, and had to use unfamiliar modern weapons, the scores throughout were creditable. Cummins won the Carbine Championship of New Zealand in 1871. Tn the evening a smoke concert Mas held, at which many interesting reminiscences of the oh! fighting days wcru recounted. Among many apologies received from comrades resident in different parts of the colony, was » lengthy and historically reminiscent let lor from Major Xonkc. The gathering was a complete success, and il was decided io try and make it an annual affair. Colonel Somervillo presided.
