The Co vernor amid prolonged cheering, unveiled th" statue, and referred in eulogistic terms to the groat generosity of Sir John Campbell in his :;ift of Cornwall Park. Sir John Caincpllil, on rising to speak, was received with the greatest enthusiasm. The proceedings were concluded bv a speech from the Mayor.
