NEW ZEALANDERS IV IN AGAINST WESTRALIAXS STRONG TEAM OVERCOME A GREAT AGGREGATE (Ansi, and N.Z. Cable) i Sydney, Aug. 17. Tlie New Zealand hockey team played a strong West. Australian team in tlie carnival competition today in ideal weather. The Westralians were expected to provide considerable opposition, as they possess a great forward line. The New Zealand backs, however, were too sound to enable them to break through. The result was 4 to i. Their average for the tour is now 08 goals to H against. They tried hard to-day to get two more to complete the century, lint the Westralian opposition was too sound.
