Reviewing the recent cricket tests between Australia afnd England, Arthur .Mailiey, according to a cable 'message on Monday, suggests that an Australian team should tour New Zealand early” next season. He states that such a tour Avould improve Australia’s chances of regaining tils Ashes in 1930. When approached on the subject to-dav. Mr A. T. Donnelly, chairman of the New' Zealand Cricket Council, said that the suggestion was quite a reasonable one. However, the council was at present endeavouring to arrange for an English team to visit -New Zealand next season, and if that were arranged, lit would not he possible to have two oversea tours in the same season; but .it negotiations for an English tour failed the' council would bo only too glad t ol have an Australian visit. As arrangements had not yet been finalised, no dcittiite statement could he made on the matter. i

Mr Donnelly agreed that such a. tour would improve Australia’s chances of regaining the Ashes.
