PACIFIC RELATIONS.
THE HONOLULU CONFERENCE v Auckland. July 20. The chief purpose of the Pacific Re- ! lations Conference just concluded in Honolulu was to promote better understanding and the spirit of goodwill among the nations bordering on the Pacific. A number of delegates went from New Zealand, and three of them Hon. J. B. Cow (Opotiki), Air A. C. Caughey (Auckland), and Air C AT. Luke (Wellington) returned hv the Niagara to-day. Discussing proceedings Air Luke said the delegates numbered about ]0() and there were 2A associate members. None of Hie delegates brought a mandate from their respective Governments, hut much valuable work was dope, and tin’s should open the way to further important discussions. Some of the most eminent men of the ( nited States and Canada wore present. and there were, some very strong men among the other delegations. Most of the Chinese representatives were young university students with two or throe outstanding .men, including' Dr. Koo, who had just come from Geneva. Japan also had some aide men.
