SUCCESSFUL SOCIAL AT PEEP-O'-DAY.

The promoters of the social held last evening at Pcep-o'-Day nave every reason to ho congra tula cod on the very successful outcome, both as regards pecuniary benefit and enjoymonb. It had been a wish for some time to establish a branch of the l'lunkot Society in that district, and the social which took place last evening was the outcome of their activities.

The woolshed, kindly lent, by Mr TTaythorne, had been converted into a fine ballroom, willing hands rjuiclcshining the floor, and the decorative art of the ladies had transformed its interior, the colour scheme of which was pale blue and gold, lighted by two powerful benzine lamps and numerous Chinese lanterns. With settees, easy chairs, and floor rugs, Ihe sitting out corners, as well as the dance floor, were all that conk) be desired. The name of Mrs Hay? thornc is well known as an expert in the culinary art, and she and her helpers had excelled themselves in the excellent supper provided.
