THE MARRIAGE SERVICE
TWO PROMISES TO BE EXPUNGED.
New York, September 17. A joint commission for the revision of the Protestant Episcopal Prayer Book has recommended sweeping changes in the marriage service, which will bo considered at the Triennial Convention in October.
The changes include the omission of the bride's promise to obey, and also of the bridegroom's promise to endow the bride with his worldly goods.
