GOOD IDEA FOR FEILDING DISTRICT.

An interesting suggestion was made by the Prime Minister in proposing the toast of "Old Residents" at the complimentary luncheon extended to him after the opening of the new ferroconcrete bridge across the Taniaki river at Panmure. Nearly every settlement in New Zealand, said, Mr Massey, had a public hall, and he thought a record should bo kept in such halis of the names of the early .settler., of-the district. The suggestion was warmly applauded.
