The Bubonic Plague.
ANOTHER DEATH AT SYDNEY. Telegraph, Freas Association. Copyright Wellington, March 11. With reference to the plague the City Council to-day decided to make a crusade against rats. The use of poison at all stoves, warehouses, and other buildings other than dwellings, is urged. The Council will supply plaster of paris and oatmeal and sugar free to anyone. It was further resolved that all insanitary buildings be demolished, and that aIJ manure be collected regularly and sent into the country ; also that every step be taken tj see that the city is clean and healthy. March 12. The Cabinet met this evening, and had under consideration the recommendation of the Central Board oi Health in connection with the bubonic plague. Members of the Government are loth to impose quarantine restrictions on those colonies where there has been no outbreak of the dreaded disease, and are in communication with the Governments of those colonies seeking information as to what precautions they are taking to prevent New South vV'aies residents passing through their respective colonies. Another cabinet meeting will probably be held to-morrow. The City Council has decided to offer a bonus oi Id a rat for every rodent taken to the destructor. Auckland, March 12. The mails by the Mararoa are not yet available. Sydney, March 12. Owles, the plague patient is dead. A man named Leene has been attacked by the plague. Another lad Dovoy has developed the plague.
