BUTTER AT 104/LOWEST PRICE SINCE JANUARY The New Zealand Dairy Board advises that New Zealand salted butter was selling at 103/- to 104/- per ewt in London at the close of last week. This is the lowest figure since the last week in January of this year when it had fallen to 106/-. The price began to rise during the first week in February. During the last week in November 12 months ago the price was •114/- to 115/- per owl: and it gradually fell until bottom was reached in January. The highest figure reached for the past six years was 133/- to 134/- in the second week in May, 1938, since when there has been a gradual decline. It is to be, hoped that bottom has been reached, and

that instead of a fall until the end of January, 1939, that there will.be a steady increase from now on. The lowest figures recorded during the past six years were 65/- to 66/- during the second and third weeks in January, 1934, and 64/- to 67/- in the second week in October, 1934.

The retail price today in London is 1/2 per lb., although some shops are selling at 1/1 per lb.
