PRESENTATIONS

CHURCH MEMBERS HONOURED DEPARTURE FROM PUKEKOHE Two prominent members of Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church —Mrs .T. L. Barriball and Miss J. L. Bayly—who are leaving Pukekohe shortly, were farewelled at a social held in their honour in the Parish hall on Monday evening. There was a good attendance and a most enjoyable time resulted. Mrs Barriball will be takingup her residence in Wanganui, and Miss Bayly, who is to be married next month, is going to reside at Whangarei.

On behalf of the parishioners, the vicar, the Rev. A. E. Prebble, presented Mrs Barriball with a crystal water jug and goblets to match, and Miss Bayly with a set of silver fish servers. Mr Prebble referred to the practical efforts of both in anything promoted for the welfare of the church, mentioning particularly the loss the choir would suffer from their departure. While their leaving was much to be regretted, Mr Prebble said all wished both future happiness.

During the evening, items given by Mrs Barriball, Mrs T. H. Midgley, Miss Hendersno, Miss Verna Short, Mr T. H. Midgley, Mr L. Holt and Mr Prebble, were greatly appreciated. A dainty supper was served and the function concluded by the company joining hands and singing “Aukl Lang Syne.”
