Golf in the Franklin District.

SATURDAY’S RESULTS.

THE WAIUKU CHAMPIONSHIP.

WIN FOR DR. G. E. IIOWDEN. The Waiuku Golf Club’s senior champion for 1936 was found on Saturday when Dr. G. E. I-lowden defeated A. Hert-old by 6 up and 5 to play. In the junior championship A. .Tames beat W. Hamilton at the 19th green. The intermediate title has yet to be decided. The fixture on Saturday afternoon was the second round in the 36 holes competition for the captain’s trophy. The event was won by W. Compton, with a score of 131 net.

The best cards in Saturday's round were: —McKinley, 94, 26—68; W. E. .Terrain, 84, 15—69; Compton, 84, 15 —69; I. McDonald, 93, 24 —69; W. Hamilton, 92, 22 —70; A. .Tames, 95, 24—71; J. Arkle, 85, 13 —72.

THE PUKEKOHE CLUB. TIE IN BOGEY MATCH. A bogey match played by members of the Pukekohe Golf Club on Saturday, resulted in a tie for first place, 11. W. Estall and G. G. Johnson finishing all square. Other good scores were: S. Douglas, 1 down; E. Bird, K. Liddle, R. Walton, 2 down: M. R. Grierson, A. McKinnon, and P. Mills, 3 down. “

PUKEKOHE WOMEN’S CLUB. DRAW FOR WEDNESDAY. / A four-ball bogey match will be played by members of the Pukekohe Women’s Golf Club on Wednesday. The draw is as follow's: —

MANGATAWHIRI CLUB. Results of the 3f>-holes bogey competition for the president’s prizes, played by the Mangatawhiri club members, are:—Men: L. Grogan, 2 down; W. Motion, 3 down; P. Peacock, 4 down. Women: Mrs G. Pope, 1 down: Mrs F. Pope, 3 down; Miss V. Aldred, 4 down. Championship play resulted:—Senior (men) : P. Maher beat G. Austin, 4 and 2; K. Murray beat M. Maher, 3 and 2: P.
