HOCKEY NOTES.
TUAKAU LADIES' CLUB.
SUCCESSFUL SEASON
A successful season with a credit balance of about £ll, was reported at the annual meeting of the Tuakau Ladies' Hockey Club held last week. Mrs A. Escott presdied over a good attendance.
The report, indicated that in the Franklin competitions v the club had won the Avery cup, held for the preceding eight years by the Whirl Whirl club, and in the local competition w< n the Fulton cup held by the Pukekawa club. From the club's funds a hockey pavilion had been erected on the recreation grounds. Thanks were extended by the president to the officers and members for their loyal co-operation. Mrs W. J. Taylor intimated that she was presenting a trophy to the club for competition among the members,and she was accorded a vole of thanks. Officers were elected as follow: — Patrons: Mrs D. Fulton and Mr W. J. Taylor: president, Mrs Escott (reelected) : vice-presidents, Mesdames F. P. Laing, G. Bakalich, A. G. Welch ; committee. Mesdames P. H. Lapwood, E. L. Cartridge, H. C. Foster, Miss A. Bakalich, Messrs P. Fulton, junior, G. Bakalich and Kewish, senior; secretary, Miss D. Laing (re-elected) ; treasurer. Miss M. Fulton; selectors, Mesdames B. Westland and Escott: captain. Miss A. Cathcart: vice-captain, Miss 0. Welch.
