OPAHEKE NEWS.
PAKURANGA HUNT MEETS. Beautiful weather prevailed for the meet of the P'akuranga Hunt at Opaheke this week, and there was a good attendance. A hare was started on Mr McLennan's property, and crossed to Mr McGallum's farm to Mr A. Smith's place and on to Red Hill, hut, after a run of about five miles, it was lost in some rough ground. Another hare was put up on Mr Ila trick's property, and ran through Messrs Walker and Whitford's farms on to the road as far as the Opaheke railway station, where it doubled hack to Mr Walker's property. Cattle spoiled the seen!, and it was lost.

Gore, on Scotty; Commander Bingley, on Blackthorn; Mr J. MacPherson, on Waitaka; Mr .1. Sutherland, on Mack; Mr J. Appleby, on Sparx; Mr H. Sutherland, on Importer; Mr C. Gore, on Ariki; Mr R. Tovvnsend, on Economy: Mr 11. Brooks, on Bufter; Mr J. Fielding, on Pale Face; Mr B. Mullins. on St. Lucas; Mr G. Holt, on Darby; Mr J. Sidebottom, on Safe Conveyance; Mr A. Walker, on Bluestone: Mr M. Walker, on Kohiwhiwhi; Mr J. Tbwnsend, on a chestnut; Mr Gordon' Hamilton, on Pathfinder; and Mr J. Dufty, on a bay.
