CHILD INJURED.

RUN OVER BY LORRY.

ACCIDENT AT ARARIMU.

Severe lacerations on the leg were received by Margaret Drake, aged 7, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. E. R.. Drake, of Ararimu, as the result of the wheel of a motor-lorry passing over her o:i Wednesday afternoon.

The girl was returning home from Ararimu school when she was picked up by the driver of a lorry. As the ,*. vehicle was rounding a corner, the * door of the cab, in which she was seated, flew open and the child"was thrown on to the roadway. Although the brakes were applied by the driver immediately, one wheel passed ovgr the child. She was .conveyed to Mr and Mrs P. Dunn's residence by the driver and a roadman and Dr. P. R. Gross was summoned from Papakura. The little girl was removed to the Auckland hospital and is reported to be progressing favourably.
