Mr S. Gribble, of Auckland, and formerly of Tuakau, was a visitor to Tuakau on Tuesday.
Mr R. N. Johnson, headmaster of the Takanini school and late of the Onewhero school, has been transferred to Whau Valley. \
Mrs Bailey, wife of the Rev. J. H. Bailey, has returned to her home again and is making a good recovery from her recent illness.
A motion of sympathy with Mrs T. Fulton on the loss of her mother, tile late Mrs Reynolds, was passed at the annual meeting of the Tuakau Croquet Club on Wednesday.
The many friends of Mrs F. Amoore, of the "Puke" boot shop, will regret to learn that she suffered a double family bereavement last week. On Friday last. Mrs Amoore*s father passed away at Masterton, and the funeral was arranged to take place on Sunday. About fifteen minutes before the appointed time for the funeral, Mrs Amoore's mother passjd away. Both were pioneer residents of Masterton. Mrs Amoore expects to return to Pukekohe during the week-end. The sympathy of a wide circle of friends is extended to her in her irreparable loss.
