HOCKEY NOTES.
LADIES' COMPETITION. The Franklin ladies' hockey competition was advanced a further stage on Saturday. Results of matches arejl^ Tuakau 3, Te Kohanga 1; Whrri Whiri 3, Pukekawa 1; Buckland 8, Pokeno 1. .. « THE SCORERS. In the Buckland-Pokeno match, Misses V. Melville, B. Cathcart, M. Cathcart (3) and M. Pratt (3) scored for Buckland, and Miss L. Mcllroy for Pokeno. Goals were scored by Misses G. Faulkner, G. Cathcart and-A. Cathcart for the Tuakau team, and by Miss M. Parry for Te Kohanga. : * P'ukekawa's scorer in the match against Whiri Whiri was Miss A. Logan. NEXT SATURDAY'S PLAY. The competition will be completed on Saturday. The leading teams, Buckland and Tuakau, each with 13 championship points, meet to decide the winner. In the event of these teams playing a draw and Pukekawa, which has 12 championship points, registering a win, the championship honours will go to the last-mentioned club. The draw for play is as follow : Buckland v. Tuakau, at Tuakau; Te Kohanga v. Pukekawa, at Pukekawa; Whiri Whiri v. Pokeno, at Pokeno. .
