UPPER HOUSE HAS BRIEF SITTING

(P.A.) AVELLINGTON. June 25. After the opening ceremony of Parliament, the Legislative Council held a brief sitting. The Hon. D. AA’ilson announced that he had been appointed Leader of the Council, and the Hon. J. Roberts was sworn in as a member of the Council, which then adjourned until 2.30 p.m. on Friday, when tributes will be paid to deceased legislators. The mover of the Address-in-Reply next week will be the Hon. J. Roberts, and the seconder will be the Hon. J. T Paul.
