BRITISH SEAMEN MURDERED
JAPS TO BE BROUGHT TO TRIAL LONDON, May 1. The Japanese murdered 69 British seamen after a cruiser sank the British motor ship Behar, in March, 1944, said the Minister of Transport, Mr A. Barnes, in a written reply in the House of Commons. Shell fire killed three of the crew. The cruiser rescued the Survivors and landed .some at Batavia. Sixty-nine were detained on board, and tk'e Japanese executed' them on the night of March *lB, 1944. Mr Barnes said those responsible were in custody, and would shortly be brought to trial.,
