GIFTS OF ANIMALS POUR IN FOR N.S.W. FOOD FOR BRITAIN FUND

(Rec. 11.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 29. Gifts of several thousand head of sheep and cattle were made or promised to the Food for Britain Fund over the week-end. There 1$ evidence of a keen competitive spirit developing in the country districts to see which would contribute most to the fund. One branch of the Returned Soldiers’. League is doubling its original offer of 1,000 fat lambs. The people of the north-west and Moree districts have signified their willingness to co-operate. Many graziers and country branches of the Returned Soldiers’ League have promised truck loads of sheep, each truck' containing about 100 animals. The drive to the abattoirs is expected to begin on May 3.
