BIG ATTRACTION IN AUSTRALIA
OVERTURES TO BOS MURPHY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 16. There could be no greater attraction in Australian boxing than the appearance there of the New Zealand champion, Bos Murphy, said Mr William Donohoe, director of Stadiums Ltd., who is now visiting Wellington.
Mr Donohoe added that in a brief meeting with Murphy he had been most favourably impressed. Murphy was a grand example of the trained athlete, and a type who helped to place any sport on a high plane. Mr Donohoe is keenly interested in Murphy visiting Australia, and possible bouts for him there would he against Burns, the Australia welterweight champion, two of the leading American coloured boxers at present there, and Dave Sands, the middle and light-heavy-weight champion. The matter is under consideration by Murphy and his manager and trainer, Messrs Galvin and Parker. In tlio event of a contract being signed
t, would be unlikely that Murphy would leave before the end of April ui view of his pending engagements i New Zealand.
